War 2: Vijay Deverakonda & Prabhas Were The Original Candidates To Face Hrithik Roshan In The Actioner, Not Jr. NTR? Here Is What Took Place!
Jr. NTR is a well-known Telugu actor who has been in the spotlight ever since his movie RRR won the prestigious Oscar earlier this year. Recent rumors say that he will be cast as the bad guy opposite Hrithik Roshan in War 2, which has made many of his fans go crazy.
Even if the Telugu actor wasn’t the director’s first choice for the character of the bad guy in the spy action movie, it will be exciting to watch him make his Bollywood debut. Before deciding on the Temper actor, the producers reached out to several other A-list stars.
Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff appeared in the lead roles in the 2019 Hindi action film “War,” which was directed by Siddharth Anand. The film grossed more than Rs 475 crore globally.
Since then, a potential sequel has been mentioned in speculations, and fans have been anticipating the new cast and storyline.
There were rumors recently that Jr. NTR, a well-known Telugu actor, was being considered to play the main bad guy in “War 2” against Hrithik. But new information shows that Vijay Deverakonda and Prabhas were the first choices for the role. Here’s what happened.
A source close to the production team said that the people who made “War 2” had talked to both Vijay Deverakonda and Prabhas about playing the bad guy in the movie. The script and character, which was written to be a smooth and cruel international criminal who challenges Hrithik’s character in the movie, were said to have impressed both actors. But both Vijay and Prabhas had to turn down the offer for different reasons.
Vijay Deverakonda rose to fame with the Telugu movie “Arjun Reddy” (2017) and its Hindi remake “Kabir Singh” (2019). He has been busy with projects like “Liger” with Ananya Panday and “Hero” with Malavika Mohanan. His spokesperson has said that he was asked to be in “War 2,” but he couldn’t do it because he had other work to do.
Prabhas, who became a national star with the “Baahubali” series (2015–2017), has been working on a big-budget mythology movie called “Adipurush” and a romantic drama called “Radhe Shyam.” His team has said that he was asked to be in “War 2,” but he had to say no because it didn’t work with his schedule.
After Vijay and Prabhas turned down the offer, the producers reportedly went to Jr NTR, who has a lot of fans in Telugu cinema and has already worked with director Siddharth Anand on the remake of “Bang Bang,” “Amar Akbar Anthony,” in 2014. (2018). But Jr. NTR’s participation in “War 2” has not yet been confirmed by an official source.
According to the same source, the makers of “War 2” are also thinking about other female leads besides Vaani Kapoor, who was in the first movie. They are reportedly looking for actresses from the Bollywood and South Indian film industries who can match the action and glamour of the male leads.
It looks like Vijay Deverakonda and Prabhas were the first choices to fight Hrithik Roshan in “War 2,” but they were too busy to accept the offer. It is now said that Jr. NTR is in talks for the part. In the upcoming months, further information is anticipated.
