The game was competitive throughout, with the Clippers leading by 11 points in the first half and the Kings leading by 11 points in the second. The Kings, though, pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Clippers 38-24 to earn the victory.
The Kings received 28 points by Buddy Hield, 25 points from Harrison Barnes, and 21 points from Marvin Bagley III in complement to Fox’s 44 points. Mann’s 42 points were a career high for the Clippers, while Paul George had 26 and Reggie Jackson had 25.
With 274 points scored, it was the second-highest scoring game in NBA history. The only game with more points was a 1983 contest between the Detroit Pistons and Denver Nuggets, which resulted in a 186-184 Pistons win.
The Kings improved to 36-42, while the Clippers dropped to 53-25. The two clubs were not scheduled to meet again during the regular season, but they might meet inside the playoffs.
